2016 Amrita white blend
Honeysuckles, lychees, gardenias and citrus blossoms jumping out of the glass. The finish is dry and refreshing and has such a bright acidity. This wine makes us smile every time we stick our nose in the glass. The 2016 is a blend of 3 varietals- Malvasia Bianca, Viognier and just a dash of Pinot Gris. Enjoy!

On August 26th at 4:30 in the morning we picked our first batch of grapes, the Malvasia Bianca. Barely over 1 ton, it was soon transported to the winery where it was carefully loaded directly into the press. The juice was then left to ferment naturally in a stainless tank which took about 2 weeks to reach dryness.
After a brief pause it was time to pick the Viognier. On Sept 8th in the middle of the night we harvested just under 1 ton of Viognier from a beautiful vineyard in Napa called Hunter Ranch. Same spot as last year and the fruit looked even better this time around. It was not too ripe (coming in at 25 Brix) with a bright acidity. This wine was pressed straight into barrel for a natural fermentation in neutral oak.
The last varietal was an extremely small batch of Pinot Gris from Yount Mill Vineyards in Yountville. On Sept 10th we picked almost 1/2 ton at 23.5 Brix and a perfectly balanced pH. Straight into the press, cold settling and natural barrel fermentation followed.
